The customs officer waves the boy's family over. He holds out his hand for their passport and doesn't say anything. The boy can feel how tense his parents are, feels the pinch of his shoulder as his mother holds him tightly.

The officer asks them if they're spies. He asks them if they're going to try anything against the country. The boy's parents answer no.

The officer asks them if they have any money; If they have anywhere to live; how do they expect to work. He gets another officer to search their bags, trawling through their belongings, looking for anything suspicious or dangerous.
